The clear reflection of the lake's darkness on the serene surface of the moon
She was a goddess, but even the goddesses wither. At some point the tiredness o being became evident and since then the downward spiral began. Not even the will of the gods is unbreakable. The infinite time, controlled by her, before full of novelties and ideas, became tedious and repetitive. She knew everything. There was nothing to do with all the knowledge of all realities. There was nothing outside and inside everything was unbearable and renowned. Her curiosity waned. She lost all interest for following those she has created. There was not satisfaction in creating universes, neither in to destroy them. Neither questions nor doubts came out of her. She owned all certainties. No more pleasure in reincarnation. Her presence, before widespread across all dimensions, began to fade on the corners and then she was no found in the temples or in the hearts. She stopped caring about her body, and her shapes and figures, once defined and metallic, became dim and blurry. She stopped materializing here and there and remained immobile scattered on seconds and light. Immortals who do nothing, fade to nonexistence.
Despite her own denial and neglect, she is still alive in the memory of her believers, me among them. In what she left created, there are some faithful that without knowing she has left, still make her offerings, praises, petitions. But in the absence of evidence, in the tide of events, and in the course of the generations that follow their faith will become weak, until no creature will know her. Then, it will be the last end and her existence will extinguish forever diluted into oblivion. I do not know if what she created will remain after her, if it will continue working under the same laws she stablished, or if it will follow a random journey to its doom. I do no know if another god or maybe any of mines will have access.
I watched her from afar and suffered with her decay. I pitied proudly her fate and laughed humbly to mine, which is the same. Her insipid and dull gaze of the last days still haunt me today. Her indolence came to me in waves spread by eons: A “Not now” shameless and painful; a “I’m happy for you” humiliating and empty; a “Good for you” mute and rusty; a sigh like a hollow and dry affront; and then only the silence. In some dreadful instant a foggy smile got caught up in her face like the last reflection.
I, that stubborn still deny the end, prefer reminding her fiery and fatal, hungry and tireless, smiling and thirsty. I, that clumsy and hopeless hold to the blind and useless eagerness that for her I have, I remember her in all her splendor: Her skin burning in colors; her voice quivering in all frequencies; her movement, erratic, precise, and sublime, in all directions; the beating breathing of her insides; the soft breeze that grazed me when she came close to me; her wild instinct to create; the clarity of her fierce and sicked ideas, the dazzling game of her look. I, that never could bear the weight of her essence, stayed away to not disturb her path. I know, with all the certainties, that there is absolutely nothing I could have given her. Nothing that in my hungry and my ambition I could have provided to change the static path that will end her. It was her choice. I saw her fall smiling.
I know that my universes were insignificant for her, that my creatures were dumb and pale before her eyes, that the color palettes that I chose were for her bright offences, the sounds were annoying and pitiful, the laws were insane and thick. I know that when still something in her was thinking, she saw me the same as I saw her. I know that she believed that everything what I am is just a useless and painful wreck, that nothing on me was worthy of her, that I am a long and grueling boredom, that I got lost long time ago and forever. I, a demon, I rot too.
